Cosplay fans in Jeddah were thrilled to watch Japan's iconic cosplayer Reika perform on stage as 'Thoma' from the video game 'Genshin Impact' at the City Walk's Anime Village.
Reika sang some popular anime songs during her performance, including "Demon Slayer," "Digimon," and "One Piece."
Speaking to Arab News, the artist said that it was her first time performing in the Kingdom, but she felt welcomed on the stage. She added that she chose to sing anime songs that Saudi people might “know and love”.
Reika has previously performed in the US, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Brazil, Italy, Spain, and a number of European and Asian nations. While Saudi Arabia is the 51st country she performed in.
Talking about the Saudi audience, she observed many families and groups of the audience were having a great time at the festival.
She was also impressed with the design of the Anime Village. “Not only the stage, but every statue, and pavilion is so big and enormous,” Reika said.
The iconic cosplayer expressed her happiness to realize that many people in the kingdom love anime. “And I feel so happy that many Saudi people love Japanese anime and entertainment," she further added.
It is to be mentioned that cosplay is the practice of dressing up as a character from a film, book, or video game.
