After all the pandemic woes and restrictions, Jordanians and fellow travellers can soak themselves in cool water splashes as the country’s largest water park, Saraya Aqaba Waterpark is set to open for summer.

The waterpark, which was closed last year, will open to the public on July 3 with residents being invited for a preview before then.

Nestled in the south of Jordan with amazing views of the Eilat Mountains, the park is functioned by Farah Experiences, the company behind Yas Waterworld and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

Saraya Aqaba Waterpark –the kingdom’s largest water park has been a summer attraction to residents as well as travellers and is a part of Saraya Aqaba, which is a mixed-use destination on the Red Sea coast.

Spread across 28,500 square metres, it’s Aqaba’s first water park. The waterpark boasts of all kinds of rides and slides and many of them are named after the kingdom's most-visited destinations.

With a beautiful backdrop of the Red Sea, water babies come here every summer to enjoy themselves with family and friends. From gigantic and adventurous water rides to rides for children, the waterpark satisfies people of all age groups.

Rides like the Dead Sea Drop on the Aqaba Waterfront, where swimmers can plunge a 12-metre vertical slide or the Wadi Rum Race that allows some splashing are some of the most favourites of the visitors.

Also, the park’s very own Mount Nebo that is named after Jordan’s most famous peak is the place to go for 360° views and four more water slides. The Syagha Serpent, the Cavern of Wonders, the Summit Soaker are some of the most-liked water rides at the park.

Not just that, with the park’s opening, visitors can experience Jordan’s first underwater virtual-reality experience too. Children can enjoy Aqua Jerash –an adventure play area filled with slides, waterfalls, rotating water jets and a giant tipping bucket, reserved for youngsters aged 12 and below.

Since Jordan has reopened to travellers with no quarantine requirement, the kingdom hopes to get more visitors this summer.
