Dubai YouTuber Khalid Al Ameri is publicly speaking about his separation from former wife and UAE influencer Salama Mohamed. The divorce was made public by Salama in a YouTube interview in June. The influencer emphasized their separation was mutual and Khalid remains to be an important person in her life.
Now, during his recent appearance on the Tracy Harmoush: What They Don’t Tell Us Podcast, the popular travel vlogger debunked several rumours about the divorce while also highlighting the negative impact of baseless assumption and speculation. Khalid couldn’t fathom, “Why is it that hard to believe that a couple comes to a point where they feel that they’re not right for each other anymore and just say to move on and go their separate ways? And do so with respect with appreciation for what they had. And with an understanding that they’re going to be happier in another path.”

The thing that affected him the most was baseless assumptions and narratives that people created on their own about his divorce. It hurt him to see many come up with “timelines of events about how things worked” in his life. Even though he could take the negative brunt of it all, Khalid was hurt to see “sadness” in the eyes of his loved one. “I swear I wouldn’t wish it on anyone,” the YouTuber noted.
He continued, “It’s one thing to get something said about you and you’ve done something wrong. Then you can sit there and be like ‘You know what I deserve this.’ You accept it. But when it’s pure lies, pure speculation and you are strong enough to deal with it. But you see someone who really loves you and they can’t hold back the emotions. That’s when it breaks your heart. People don’t see that. They are so desensitized to the impact these words can have on people.”
