Lindsay Pattison’s short-lived tenure as chief transformation officer of GroupM has bore fruit as her role has been expanded to encapsulate the entire WPP network.
Back in May, Pattison, chief executive of GroupM’s Maxusagency, was also appointed to the newly formed role of chief transformation officer. Months later and that role has been expanded so that she is overseeing the future-proofing of the entire group.
On the move, chief executive of WPP, Martin Sorrell circulated a statement: “As you know, our single most important task is to ensure we provide our clients with a seamlessly integrated offer, as they demand greater simplicity and efficiency from their marketing services partners.
"Horizontality will increasingly be reflected in the structure of the Group itself, as well as our client teams, country managers and organic collaboration between our companies.
"Lindsay will play a key role in that project as we continue down the path of greater integration."
About Lindsay Pattison:
Pattison was named global CEO of Maxus in October 2014. She was previously Global Chief Strategy Officer and UK CEO for Maxus during a period in which it was the fastest-growing media agency worldwide. Her prior experience includes roles at Young and Rubicam, PHD Media and Sony Ericsson. Lindsay was named to Ad Age’s 2015 class of Women to Watch and served two terms on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council focused on the Future of Media. In 2016, she launched ‘Walk the Talk,’ an initiative to help senior women at Maxus to thrive and progress in their career, a program now being adopted globally by WPP.
