MediaTek launched the all new Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 8000 chipset. These two high-end competitors are 5 nm chips but the Dimesity 8100 runs at a higher clock speed as compared to Dimensity 8000. Both the newly launched chipsets come with four A55 and Cortex A78 CPU cores. The Dimensity 8100 offers 20 percent higher GPU frequency than the Dimensity 8000 chipset. The MediaTek Dimensity had hit 170 fps the GFXBench Manhattan while the Dimensity 8000 had hit 140 fps.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 8000 come with support for a screen refresh rate of 168 Hz at Full HD+ resolution and the Dimesnity 8100 also has support for 120 hz screen refresh rate at WQHD+ resolution. Both the chipsets support adaptive HDR10+and they come with 4K AV1 video decoders.
The Dimensity 8100 comes with the Imagiq 780 ISP that can record HDR videos from dual cameras and it also offers support for 200 megapixel cameras. On the connectivity front, this chipset features 4.7 Gbps peak downlink performance, 2CC carrier aggregation and 3 GPP Release- 16 5G modem with 5G dual sim dual standby support.
On the other hand, the Dimensity 8000 also packs the Imagiq 780 ISP that supports 200 megapixel cameras, record HDR videos with dual cameras and AI-motion unblur. For connectivity, this chipset packs similar specifications to the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset.
MediaTek’s newly launched Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 8000 chipset is expected to arrive in the market in the first quarter of 2022; however, the company hasn’t confirmed the specific date yet. The Chinese tech company, Realme, has said that the Realme GT Neo 3 handset will be the first device to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset. Redmi has also announced that one of the devices from the Redmi K50 lineup will be equipped with the Dimensity 8100 chipset.
