Mashable: Users will be able to share text and link posts from Facebook to Threads using new feature.
Meta has started conducting tests on a cross-posting functionality, enabling users to share content from Facebook to Threads. The company verified the trial to TechCrunch, stating that it is restricted to iOS and excludes the European Union (EU).
Users will be able to share text and link posts from Facebook to Threads using this feature.
The inclusion of this functionality has the potential to streamline the workflow for creators who regularly share images or other forms of media accompanied by textual updates.
Facebook introduced the option to cross-post to Instagram in 2021, following the earlier introduction of cross-posting Stories between the two platforms.
In the meantime, Mark Zuckerberg, the Founder and CEO of Meta, has revealed that the company is currently conducting tests on Threads for a new feature called "trending topics." This feature will enable users to stay updated on the latest conversations that are gaining popularity on the platform.
The test for users in the US will be launched first by the company, with plans to expand to additional countries and languages once it is fully prepared. Mark Zuckerberg mentioned in a Threads post, "We are starting with a small test of today's top topics on Threads in the US. We will expand to more countries and languages once we have fine-tuned it."
Meta recently revealed in a blog post its partnership with the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to expand the 'Take It Down' initiative to more countries and languages.
This initiative aims to empower a large number of adolescents in their fight against the distressing problem of sextortion. By taking back control over their private images and preventing the online spread of such content by scammers, former partners, or any other individuals, this program seeks to make a positive impact.

Last year, Meta and NCMEC launched their platform in English and Spanish. However, they have recently expanded its availability to multiple countries and languages. Currently, the platform can be accessed in an additional 25 languages.
The program is now accessible in Hindi, Chinese, French, German, Icelandic, Portuguese, Urdu, Tagalog, Bengali, Thai, Arabic, Dutch, Tamil, Turkish, Italian, Khmer, Kurdish, Bahasa Indonesian, Malayalam, Marathi, Sinhalese, Vietnamese, and Korean.
