Upon Sam Altman's return to OpenAI following the eventful five-day period, Satya Nadella, the Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, emphasized that technology, including Artificial Intelligence, should be regarded solely as a tool.

In a memo circulated internally prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, Nadella expressed his admiration for the remarkable pace of innovation achieved by the employees.

He acknowledged the prevailing hardships and uncertainties in the world, emphasizing that technology, including Al, is merely a tool and not the ultimate goal. Over the course of the last 5 days, he witnessed employees throughout the company staying dedicated to the mission and prioritizing the needs of customers and partners. They willingly offered their assistance in any way they could.
