Microsoft holds a notable advantage in the AI race due to its ownership of Windows, which grants the company access to a vast userbase of PC users. In January, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated that by 2024, AI will become an integral component of every PC.
The Copilot chatbot assistant from the company is currently available on the Bing search engine and can also be accessed in Office productivity software for a fee.
Windows users will soon receive more information on the integration of AI in Windows and the functionalities it will offer on new AI PCs.
This announcement follows Google I/O, where the tech giant introduced its most advanced AI model and demonstrated how its Gemini AI will operate on various devices.
OpenAI had also revealed its new GPT-4o model before Google's event. Microsoft, being OpenAI's primary investor, utilizes OpenAI's models for its Copilot technology.
Microsoft faces a dual challenge of maintaining a strong position in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and revitalizing PC sales, which have been stagnant for the past two years following a surge in upgrades during the pandemic.
According to a recent report by Morgan Stanley analyst Erik Woodring, he expresses optimism about the recovery of the PC market. This positive outlook is based on feedback from customers and the recent increase in original design manufacturer (ODM) builds for notebooks.

Gartner, a renowned technology industry researcher, has estimated a 0.9% growth in PC shipments during the quarter, marking a turnaround after a prolonged decline. Microsoft's Chief Financial Officer, Amy Hood, acknowledged that the demand for PCs was slightly better than anticipated during the company's quarterly earnings call last month.
