Titled ‘Crossing Smiles’ is based on Palestinian children and their dreams and hopes for the future.
Making the most of the global platform like Expo 2020 Dubai, the Morocco Pavilion have been showcasing various exhibitions at the event and one of the major displays is a photography exhibition based on Palestine.
Titled ‘Crossing Smiles’ is based on Palestinian children and their dreams and hopes for the future. Showcasing vivid photos, the show features images of the children during a visit to Morocco, documenting the places visited and the moments that put joy on their faces.
The exhibition, which will run until December 3, 2021, documents the moments of Palestinian children and the places they’ve visited in Morocco, which managed to put a smile on their faces that brightens their lives, in light of the instability in which they live on their land.
A photograph called ‘Holy Smile’ clicked by a Palestinian girl in one of Mazagan’s gardens in El Jadida, showcases the hope that children have for a bright future.
Another picture, named ‘A Smile at Sea’, is a picture of children from Jerusalem whose faces were covered in sand while they were having fun on the beach of Ashkar in Tangier. The photograph depicts smiles as evidence of joy and hope for a new meeting, even if after a while.
These and many such photographs have been on display at the exhibition. These pictures have been taken during the visit of Palestinian children to some of the most important archaeological and natural sites in Morocco, where they embraced themselves in these picturesque settings without having to worry about the horrifying realities they have been going through.
The pictures represent a message of support from Morocco to Palestinian children. It is hoped the smiles of the children, captured on canvass, will remain on their faces, an inspiring message of love and peace.
