Hespress English Morocco News: In a bid to attract Middle Eastern and North African travelers, Morocco has partnered with Wego, MENA’s largest travel marketplace, to launch a new campaign spotlighting the country’s cultural treasures and natural beauty.
Backed by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), the initiative aims to position Morocco as a top-tier summer escape and boost the country’s visibility among MENA travelers.
“The campaign will feature exclusive destination guides, influencer-curated content, and digital promotions that highlight Morocco as a top summer choice for travelers in the GCC and beyond,” explained Rachid Hamzaoui, Director for the Middle East & Asia at ONMT.
Key destinations featured in the campaign include Chefchaouen, Agadir, and the Atlas Mountains, chosen to reflect Morocco’s cultural depth, coastal appeal, and potential for outdoor adventure.
Wego will leverage its digital reach to offer real-time booking options and local insights, making trip planning seamless. “We’re excited to broaden the horizons of our users and introduce them to the richness Morocco has to offer,” said Wego’s Chief Business Officer, Mamoun Hmidan.
Beyond iconic cities like Marrakech, Rabat, and Fez, the campaign highlights Morocco’s creative spirit through artisan crafts, local cuisine, and immersive cultural experiences.
The initiative reflects a broader national push to elevate Morocco’s profile as a global tourism and travel hub. Tourism has become the country’s top economic sector in 2025, overtaking agriculture and industry, according to La Quotidienne, thanks to strategic investment and sustained government focus.
Meanwhile, Royal Air Maroc announced last week the expansion of its network with new routes to Catania, Toronto, and Beijing, reinforcing Morocco’s position as a growing global travel hub.
