Mashable: Thousands of fans flock to the streets of Rabat on Tuesday
The Moroccon team, Atlas Lions made history at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.
Morocco became the first African and Arab nation to enter the FIFA World Cup semi-finals.
Walid Regragui and his team were given the most spectacular homecoming in Morocco with thousands of fans gathering in the streets of Rabat.
The Morocco national team wrote their name in the books of history as they beat Cristiano Ronaldo led-Portugal to reach the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar semi-finals.
On Tuesday, thousands of football fans took to the streets of Morocco’s capital Rabat to welcome the football heroes after their historic World Cup run.
As per The National News, people were seen waving flags, setting off fireworks, and banging drums as manager Walid Regragui and players traveled from the airport into the capital on an open-top bus. The fans also chanted “ole, ole, ole, ole, Maghreb, Maghreb” which is the Arabic name for Morocco.

The Atlas Lions’ incredible World Cup run was celebrated by fans and hailed by many. The team beat Belgium and Canada before defeating the 2010 FIFA World Cup champions Spain in the Round of 16.
Morocco also ended Portugal’s World Cup dream as they beat them in the World Cup quarter-finals. The team eventually lost to France in the semi-finals.
Morocco players including Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat, and goalkeeper Yassine Bounou gained fans across the globe for their performances throughout the global event.
The team also met Morocco's King Mohammed VI at the royal palace in Rabat on Tuesday.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup was won by Argentina as they beat France on penalties after a 3-3 draw.
