Marvel Cinematic Universe has just released the trailer for its newest teen superhero known as Ms. Marvel. The trailer briefly dives into her high school life, family, and her developing skills.

Going by the alter-ego, Kamala Khan is a Marvel Comics superhero who appears in comic books. In the comic book world Khan made her first appearance as Captain Marvel in Captain Marvel comics #14 (August 2013).

Also, Khan is Marvel's first Asian American Muslim superhero with her own comic book. Her standalone book, Ms. Marvel was published in February 2014.

According to Marvel, Ms. Marvel is a new, original series from Marvel Studios that follows Kamala Khan, an adolescent growing up in Jersey City. Kamala is a Super Hero mega-fan with an enlarged imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. She is an ardent gamer and voracious fan-fiction writer. Kamala, on the other hand, feels invisible at home and at school—that is, until she gains the superpowers of the heroes she has always admired.

According to Marvel Fandom, she has latent Inhuman ancestry that was unleashed by the Terrigen Bomb. She became a polymorph after being exposed to the Terrigen Mist, having the capacity to extend her body in practically any way possible. Kamala was a major superhero enthusiast, particularly Carol Danvers, the former Ms. Marvel. She went on to become the newest Ms. Marvel identity holder.

A similar storyline was also portrayed on Marvel’s Avengers Video Game where Kamala Khan gains her superpowers during A-Day, which is a celebration for the Avengers. After a terrorist attack, the day ends in tragedy for the Avengers. Blamed for the disaster, the Avengers break up and let the science company A.I.M. take their place. Five years later, when A.I.M. threatens to kill all Inhumans, Kamala goes on a quest to reassemble Earth's Mightiest Heroes to fight this new threat.

Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, is played by Iman Vellani. Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha are also included in the cast.

Episodes are directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Bisha K. Ali are the executive producers. Co-executive producers for the series are Sana Amanat and Trevor Waterson, and Bisha K. Ali is the head writer.

Ms. Marvel hits Disney+ on June 8. Marvel’s other original superhero TV series “Moon Knight” starring Oscar Isaac also premieres on March 30.
