Well-famous athlete and 11-time world champion and 8-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt finally attended the Expo 2020 Dubai and completed the ‘Run the World’ event.
The champion ran for the 1.45kms charity run that was organised by the Expo to raise donations for Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination.
Along with running with the participants at the event, the greatest athlete also spent that day meeting fans along with presenting a family run that was organised near the Russian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Saturday.
Fans in huge numbers across the UAE attended the event to get a glimpse of the athlete and run alongside the Olympic champion. They joined him for the run and were seen clicking selfies with him and enjoying the run.
Just as the fans were excited to see him, Bolt was delighted too to be here and run at the mega event and represent Jamaica. “It has been a pleasure visiting Expo 2020 Dubai and learning more about how Dubai has reimagined the future of mobility, including making it easy and accessible,” he said.
UAE and specially-abled Emirati athlete and holder of 17 Special Olympic medals, Hamda Hosani, also joined Bolt at the event, fulfilling her lifelong dream of running alongside Bolt.
“The Family Run was a great example of how sports can bring a community together for a good cause. I always tell young athletes that the possibilities are endless. Students of determination from Al Noor and Hamda Hosani joined today’s run,” Bolt added.
The event was organised to raise funds for the Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination, to support their rehabilitation, training programmes and efforts to build a brighter future.
