The concert will take place in May at Yas Island's Etihad Arena.
With many popular music bands performing in the capital, it is the first pop band Maroon 5 that is going to debut in Abu Dhabi.
Performing for the first time, the band will entertain the crowd at a live concert that is set to take place on May 6 at Yas Island’s Etihad Arena, tickets to which will go on sale on Friday.
Announcing the news via social media on Wednesday, entertainment company Live Nation wrote, “Adam Levine and his crew are set to kick it on stage. Will you be coming?”
While the US pop-rock band is not new to the UAE, it is Abu Dhabi’s first one. They were the first music act to play at City Walk’s Coca-Cola Arena back in 2019 ever since 2011 when they performed at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Headlined by vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton and multi-instrumentalist and bassist Sam Farrar, Maroon 5 has given chart tops including songs like This Love, Harder to Breathe and Moves Like Jagger, giving a variety from disco and funk to rock.
Formed in 2002 as Kara’s Flowers in 1994, the band re-emerged as Maroon 5, pursuing a different direction, and adding guitarist Valentine.
The band has also won three Grammy Awards, along with several other prestigious accolades over the years.
