Residents of the country will be able to trade NFT stamps to commemorate the occasion.

Five decades into its journey as a country, the UAE has managed to carve out its place among some of the most tech-savvy nations across the globe, and has been lauded for integration of innovative solutions in the public service infrastructure along with effective digitisation of businesses. At a time when cryptocurrencies and digital tokens born from the blockchain boom are dividing opinions in Middle Eastern economies like Turkey and Kuwait, the Emirates has once again demonstrated a proactive approach to embrace the revolution.

Licensing authorities in Dubai are already accepting Bitcoins as payment, while the country is all set to launch a virtual currency of its own, to keep up with the popularity of unregulated crypto cash. Considering the country's positive attitude towards blockchain solutions, it's only natural that the UAE has decided to commemorate its golden Jubilee year by issuing postal stamps in the form of crypto tokens, to be traded by enthusiasts.

Introduced as collectibles, the stamps will have digital twins in the blockchain realm, and will promote the story as well as milestones achieved by the Emirates over the past 50 years. The stamps have been created to bring traditional stamps closer to the virtual world, and are designed by the Emirates Post Group, which is also considering adoption of drones for deliveries.

Among four unique stamps designed to reflect national themes of the UAE, a premium collectible has one gram gold woven into it, to signify the country's golden jubilee celebrations. Scanning a QR code on the card will reveal the digital design of the NFT stamp linked with it, and each of them will have cryptographic chips for authentication.

Residents with existing crypto wallets of their own can add the digital collectible stamps to it, once the NFTs go on sale in the UAE on December 2.

Speaking of NFT collectibles, the UAE is also home to a gallery which markets Islamic art in the form of digital tokens.
