Qatar issues new ‘Entry and Exit Measures’ for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

The authorities in Qatar have announced new entry and exit regulations to and from the country for the duration of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Visitors will need Hayya Card to enter Qatar during the FIFA World Cup.

Visitors with visit visas will be suspended from November 1, 2022, until December 22, 2022, to enter the country. However, the visit visas will resume from December 23, 2022.

On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, The Ministry of Interior, Qatar took to its official Twitter account and announced the new measures. Sharing the information, it wrote, “Entry and exit measures to and from the State of #Qatar during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. #MOIQatar #Qatar2022 #FIFAWorldCupQatar2022”

The holders of the Hayya Card will be allowed to enter the country during the FIFA World Cup 2022 period and can stay in Qatar until January 23, 2023.

The Hayya Card is issued by the government of Qatar. It is an ID for fans who hold match tickets for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The authorities have exempted some categories including Qatari citizens, residents, and GCC citizens who hold a Qatari ID card. The holders of personal recruitment visas, work entry permits, and humanitarian cases are also exempted.

The Ministry of Interior also issued a press release on September 21, 2022, through their official Twitter account.

Qatar will become the first Arab country to hold the biggest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup 2022 which is scheduled to take place from November 20, 2022, to December 18, 2022. The host, Qatar will take on Ecuador in the opening game.
