The moon rock is being displayed at the American pavilion.

Among major tech events which have made their way to Dubai in the post pandemic age, Expo 2020 has emerged as a promising platform for innovators from across the globe, to reach out to millions of tech enthusiasts. But other than digital solutions, AI and robotics on offer for future ready businesses as well as households, art, heritage and literature are also receiving exposure thanks to technology.

Regional players like Saudi Arabia have used their pavilions to display ancient sites for tourists, while others like Poland have crafted digitally enhanced replicas of their natural diversity. As inventions including a satellite which can communicate with aliens, usher in the space age, the American pavilion has unveiled a piece of the moon at the Expo, along with a model of Space X's popular rocket.

The lunar rock which is 3.8 billion years old, was brought back by cosmonauts who reached the Earth's satellite aboard Apollo 17 in 1972. It won't be the only galactic relic to be displayed at the American section, since a Martian meteorite retrieved from Antarctica as recently as 2013, is also set to thrill space geeks.

Speaking of ancient specimens, the Ethiopian pavilion is the go to spot for history buffs, who are interested in tracing the origins of humanity by meeting its oldest ancestor. The skeleton which is 3.2 million years old, has been reconstructed to reveal the existence of a one metre tall woman called Lucy.

The fossil was unearthed by an anthropologist Donald Johanson in the 70s, after which he named the species Southern Apes of Afar. Carving their place amidst futuristic gadgets, the remains are the oldest known trace of humanity.

Coming back to American feats in the space race, a 14-storey high model of Space X's Falcon 9 rocket, is the tallest installation at the entire Expo site. The most flown rocket from the US, Falcon 9 has facilitated launches for different countries including the UAE.

Egypt has also contributed to a better understanding of Middle East's past, through a royal mummy accompanied by accurate replicas of ancient remains.
