Mashable: Samsung's XCover series is recognized for its robust smartphones, with the latest addition being the XCover 7, which was introduced exactly one year ago. Although there were indications that a successor might be on the horizon, it appears that Samsung is not finished with the XCover 7 series just yet.

A recent report from Android Authority reveals that the company is developing the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro, which will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, in contrast to the standard model that utilizes the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+. This information was derived from code snippets reportedly sourced from credible informants.

As a member of the rugged smartphone category, the Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 Pro is anticipated to possess MIL-STD-810H certification for enhanced durability, along with an IP rating for protection against dust and water. For reference, here is a brief overview of the standard Galaxy XCover 7’s specifications.

The smartphone boasts military-grade MIL-STD-810H certification, and its IP68 rating for water and dust resistance guarantees resilience in challenging conditions. Internally, the device is powered by a 6nm octa-core processor, likely the Dimensity 6100+ SoC, accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage.

Additionally, it features a 6.6-inch FHD+ TFT display with a 20:9 aspect ratio for an engaging viewing experience. The device operates on Android 14 with One UI 6 pre-installed.

In terms of photography, the Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 is equipped with a 50MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, both optimized for barcode and QR code scanning, making them particularly suitable for business use.

Designed to endure drops from heights of up to 1.5 meters and featuring Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, the XCover 7 ensures exceptional durability. The smartphone is powered by a 4050mAh replaceable battery, weighs 240g, and has dimensions of 169 x 80.1 x 10.2 mm.
