Mashable: The Saudi government's Directorate General of Passports announced the travel ban on Saturday.

Saudi Arabia has barred its people from going to sixteen countries, including India, following the re-emergence of Covid-19 and the rapid increase in the number of daily Covid infections over the past few weeks.

The other countries include Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Libya, Indonesia, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, and Venezuela.

As per reports, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) stressed that the passport validity for Saudis planning to go to non-Arab nations must be longer than six months.

For travel to Arab countries, the passport should reportedly have a validity of more than three months and for citizens travelling to other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries must have a national ID card that is valid for at least three months.

The Jawazat emphasized that the Absher and Tawakkalna applications' soft copies of national ID are not sufficient for travel to GCC states.

The original ID card and family registry are required for travel, as well as proof of dependents within the Kingdom whose holders are unable to go to the Gulf countries.

Saudis travelling outside the Kingdom must meet the following health conditions, according to the Jawazat:

Should have received three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and the third dose after three months of receiving the second dose.
Exemptions for persons who have obtained a vaccine waiver due to medical reasons, as per the Tawakkalna application status.
Children aged 16 and 12 must receive two vaccination doses.
Children under the age of 12 must travel with a valid coronavirus insurance policy.
