Mashable: Karim Benzema shared a video while performing Umrah in Mecca

French footballer Karim Benzema recently performed the holy pilgrimage of Umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabia transfer, French football player Karim Benzema joined the Saudi Pro League team Al Ittihad in a shocking transfer.

On Monday, August 7, 2023, the Saudi Pro League team, Al Ittihad captain, and Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema shared a video while performing the holy pilgrimage.

The football player who is also a devout Muslim has been having a great new season and enjoying his time in Saudi Arabia.

The star player took to the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) and shared a short video from his holy pilgrimage in Mecca. “Mashallah,” the former Real Madrid footballer said in the video, “the best of the best.”

Seen wearing white clothing also known as ihram, the star player added, “Alhamdulillah.”. The video shows Karim Benzema performing Tawaf around Kaaba.

Meanwhile, according to Khaleej Times, this is not the first time that the French star has performed the holy Umrah. He visited Saudi Arabia and completed Umrah in the year 2016.
Whereas, the newly-signed Saudi Pro League Club Al Nassr footballer, Sadio Mane also performed the holy pilgrimage. As per the news outlet, the Senegalese footballer performed Umrah just hours after his debut for the Saudi club on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

However, Sadio Mane wasn’t the only one embarking on this journey. He was joined by some of his Muslim teammates, including Seko Fofana, the former RC Lens captain.

The video of the football players performing Umrah is doing rounds on the internet.

Besides Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, the football clubs in the kingdom have signed major football players including Jordan Henderson, Marcelo Brozovic, N'Golo Kante, Alex Telles, Seko Fofana, and Riyad Mahrez.
