Mashable: The Palestinian Foreign Ministry thanked Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their generosity.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has extended a helping hand to Palestinian Umrah pilgrims stranded in the country due to the ongoing Israeli war in the Gaza Strip. In a compassionate move, the KSA announced a six-month residency permit for these pilgrims, providing them with temporary stability amid challenging circumstances.

Expressing gratitude for this gesture, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry took to X on Sunday, February 25, to thank Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their generous act. The ministry emphasized Saudi Arabia's assistance to Gazan pilgrims, who find themselves unable to return home due to the aggressive stance of the Israeli occupation.

The ministry's statement shed light on the dire situation faced by these individuals, highlighting the broader crisis that has engulfed Gaza since October 7, 2023. This decision underscores the Kingdom's commitment to alleviating Palestinian suffering and addressing humanitarian crises in the region.

The Gaza war, which commenced on October 7, 2023, following an attack by Hamas militants on Israel, has resulted in significant loss of life. Approximately 1,200 people have lost their lives in the conflict, with Israel launching airstrikes and a ground offensive against Gaza, leading to nearly 30,000 deaths.

Amidst this turmoil, Saudi Arabia's gesture of offering residency permits brings a ray of hope to the stranded Palestinian Umrah pilgrims. The six-month residency permit granted by the KSA not only serves as a lifeline for those stranded but also reaffirms the Kingdom's commitment to standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
