Bringing the best of art, Saudi Arabia’s Misk Art Institute is set to showcase its annual flagship exhibition starting from October 5 to January 31, 2022.
The exhibition, titled, ‘Here, Now’ is curated by British critic and writer Sacha Craddock and assisted by the Institute’s assistant curators Alia Ahmad Al Saud and Nora Algosaibi.
The exhibition’s theme being ‘culture’, will showcase works of regional as well as international artists, featuring a mix of mediums, including paintings, textiles, sculptures, immersive installations, and digital works.
Through the works of the artists, the display of artworks explores the space between the personal and public, between the outside of perception and the inside of intention.
The exhibition which is Misk Art Institute’s 3rd annual exhibition hopes to encourage visitors to adopt a spirit of discovery, to take in the gap between the artworks, and negotiate the intimate space found between an artist and their artwork.
The participating artists at the exhibition include Ayman Yossri Daydban (Saudi Arabia/Palestine), Filwa Nazer (Saudi Arabia), Manal AlDowayan (Saudi Arabia), Piyarat Piyapongwiwat (Thailand), Salah ElMur (Sudan), Sami Ali AlHossein (Saudi Arabia), Sheila Hicks (USA), Vasudevan Akkitham (India), Young In Hong (South Korea) and Yousef Jaha (Saudi Arabia).
The exhibition will be on display at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall in Riyadh and will also be accessible online through the Misk Art Institute’s website.
