Mashable: Lionel Messi is set to face Cristiano Ronaldo in a friendly match on January 19

Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr’s rival Al Hilal is reportedly making a huge offer to Paris Saint Germain star Lionel Messi.

If reports are to be believed, Argentina's captain Lionel Messi may soon come to Saudi Arabia.

Lionel Messi fulfilled his lifelong dream of lifting the World cup trophy at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. Messi-led Argentina beat France in penalties in the finals of the global tournament in December 2022.

After the World Cup, Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo shocked the world with his move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr on a 2-year contract which is estimated to be worth more than 200 million euros.

The 37-year-old mutually terminated his contract with Manchester United following a controversial interview with Piers Morgan, where he criticized the club and its manager Erik ten Hag.

Cited by Khaleej Times, as per Barca Universal, Saudi club Al Hilal is reportedly offering the Argentinian footballer a whopping $300 million per season.

Al Hilal is said to be Al Nassr’s biggest rival and it is offering Messi a higher salary than the latter has offered Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to Daily Mail, Lionel Messi’s father Jorge who is also his agent is reportedly in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to look at the possibility of his son joining the club.

The 35-year-old’s contract with his club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will expire in June 2023, and Al Hilal is super keen to sign him as early as possible.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are set to face each other in a friendly match as part of PSG’s mid-season tour. Paris Saint Germain will be facing the Saudi All-Star XI which will consist of players from Al Hilal as well as Al Nassr on January 19, 2023.
