Pakistan Cricket legends Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul came together to celebrate a remarkable Guinness World Record in Dubai, honoring the Hands of Unity campaign that created the largest UAE flag made of handprints.
The flag features over 24,514 individual imprints from people representing over a hundred nationalities, including Indians, Bangladeshis, Arabs, Filipinos, and others.
The initiative was jointly led by PAD (Pakistan Association Dubai), Emirates Loves, and Pakistani artist Rubab Zahra. Zahra approached PAD and together for a month, the team worked tirelessly to turn dreams into reality.
The journey of creating the largest UAE flag began on April 13 in Al Quoz, and with over 39 sessions, it was finally completed. Each handprint symbolizes a message of gratitude and unity.
Shahid Afridi, former Pakistan captain, praised the initiative, saying, "This is a country (UAE) that unites 200+ nationalities and you can see that reflected in these 24,000+ handprints. Special thanks to the entire PAD team whose efforts made this world record possible. It is a team game, and they worked like a true dream."
On the other hand, Pakistani pacer Umar Gul called it inspiring, before adding, "This is exactly what we want to see in the world - peace and social cohesion."
