Shams and Al Qasimia University join forces by signing an MoU to conduct trainings on various aspects of media and communications

Sharjah Media City (Shams), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Qasimia University in Sharjah on April 12, with the aim of strengthening ties between both parties across the fields of media and communication.

The MoU was signed digitally, abiding by all the necessary precautionary measures, assuring the safety of both parties according to the general directives of the United Arab Emirates.

The MoU was signed by H.E. Dr Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams), and H.E. Prof. Rashad Mohammed Salem, Director of Al Qasimia University.

H.E. Dr Khalid Omar Al Midfa said: “As a part of Shams’ vision, we are constantly adopting all the required plans and strategies to help young talented individuals hone their skills. We wish to extend our support to these individuals by providing various training courses including a variety of professional, technical and creative workshops.”

H.E. Prof. Rashad Mohammed Salem said: “This MoU highlights the role of Shams in providing various opportunities across the media industry and its efforts in supporting development across the Emirate of Sharjah. The MoU will provide opportunities to conduct trainings, workshops and media consultations for students that encompass all aspects of media and communications. Through this collaboration the goal is also to highlight the opportunities the University provides in the field of research and scientific study.

 “The MoU also reflects on the strategic initiatives of the university that includes partnering with major institutions to enhance student performance across media studies, public relations and other fields of communications.” He added.

The MoU states that (Shams) will provide training to students from the university’s College of Communications, through several specialized media courses and workshops in the field of media and communication, to enhance and develop their skills.

 Besides, this collaboration allows Shams’ to benefit from the academic and practical experience of the faculty members at the university and integrate their knowledge into the planning, designing and implementation of media campaigns that address several important subjects.
