Time and again, the emirate has been laying focus on reading books and with that Sharjah has gotten even more creative to attract people towards books and reading in abundance.

The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has launched a global cultural campaign that focuses on bringing people to reading. The largest of its kind in the region and internationally and across several Arab and international cities, the campaign aims to bring people from all walks of life closer to books.

Launched in written, audio, and visual formats and presented in the native languages of these countries, the campaign fortifies the life-affirming and life-changing relationship between an individual and books.

The campaign, which has been launched with a quirky slogan ‘If you’re into something, you’re into books’ seeks to bring about a paradigm shift in the popular perception that books are only for book worms and intellectuals.

Regardless of their age, race, ethnicity, cultural or socioeconomic backgrounds, the campaign gives a universal message that whatever be it triggers one’s interests or passions, there is a book out there to fuel their curiosity.

Apart from highlighting popular genres including books on research and academics, people can find books catering to all interests. The campaign emphasises that whether you are a gamer, musician, athlete, biker, or fashion enthusiast, there is a book for that.

The campaign has been even more interesting with spectacular audio-visual formats in the local languages of these nations to ensure the campaign has an appeal within the cultural contexts of diverse audiences worldwide.

Not just that, as a part of its biggest global campaign ever, Sharjah Book Authority is also offering discounts of up to 50 percent on books through its collaboration with major e-commerce stores.
