Mashable: The Dubai ruler has approved the major plan for Dubai’s countryside

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, recently announced a 100km scenic route for Dubai's countryside.
Called Saih Al Salam Scenic Route, or Route 1, the 100km scenic route will include dedicated roads for vehicles, desert bicycles and electric scooters which will be connected to tourist attractions.
As the part of the new project called Dubai Countryside and Rural Areas Development Plan, this route will unlock more of the Emirate’s desert to visitors.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai unveiled the plan on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “We adopted the comprehensive plan for the countryside and wilderness of Dubai on an area of 2,216 square kilometres of the area of Dubai, and it includes areas such as Al-Lusaili, Lehbab, Al-Marram, Al-Faqaa, Al-Aweer and others. We have the most beautiful city in the world, and our next goal is to make the countryside and wilderness of Dubai among the most enjoyable and beautiful.”

The Dubai Media office also shared a plan for the Saih Al Salam Scenic Route.

The Dubai Countryside and Rural Areas Development Plan will span an area of 2,216sqkm and will be a host to desert electric scooters, sandboarding, camps, kayak boats, hot-air balloons, open cinema, club for remotely controlled planes & cars, and helicopter tours.
The Supreme Committee for Urban Planning will be in charge for the implementation and governance of this plan.
The major plan aims to increase the number of activities, services, and events that will promote desert tourism in the Emirate.
