Mashable: Other tech firms that have taken action in Russia include Apple, AMD, Adobe, and General Electric, among others which halted product sales following the invasion of Ukraine.

Exactly one month after ceasing shipments to customers in Russia and Belarus, Intel has now completely ceased all business operations in the country.

In a statement, the company said:

“Intel continues to join the global community in condemning Russia’s war against Ukraine and calling for a swift return to peace. Effective immediately, we have suspended all business operations in Russia. This follows our earlier decision to suspend all shipments to customers in Russia and Belarus.

“Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by this war, particularly the people of Ukraine and the surrounding countries and all those around the world with family, friends and loved ones in the region."

“We are working to support all of our employees through this difficult situation, including our 1,200 employees in Russia. We have also implemented business continuity measures to minimize disruption to our global operations.”

Other tech firms that have taken action in Russia include Apple, AMD, Adobe, and General Electric, among others which halted product sales following the invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Spotify, as well as news organizations such as CNN, ABC, and the BBC, have suspended operations in Russia as a result of a new law that severely restricts freedom of expression in the country.

Shipments from International Business Machines Corp were previously halted after Ukraine urged the US cloud-computing and software companies to sever ties with Russian counterparts.

Russia's server market is dominated by servers from IBM, Dell Technologies,, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co., as companies and government agencies have relied on technology developed by Western countries as the foundation for their own-and-operated information technology systems.
