Crypto Hackers Are Automating Hacks In Telegram

Telegram is the latest platform to be hounded by crypto hackers. The app is one of the most common methods of communication in Crypto communities. Due to relatively ease of usability and features like communicating without the need of phone numbers make it vulnerable for the less informed laymen. The introduction of bots in the app was a cool feature and it still does more good than harm. However, lately Telegram has been infested by Cryptocurrency scammers who are using malicious bots to dupe investors into giving OTP (One Time Password). The hackers then use the OTP to lock the original user out of their account, demanding ransom in cryptocurrency or steal their holdings. The bots are even available for sale in Telegram for around $300 a month!

Hackers even steal crypto from other hackers in the instant messaging app through malwares! According to TechRadar the malware is disguised as software for brute-forcing passwords for banking, dating and social media accounts. Once the wannabe hacker runs the program, crypto-stealing malware is installed on their device.

What’s more concerning is the automated bots that make it helluva easier for the hackers to get their job done.
