The 23rd Conference of Arab Culture Ministers to be hosted by Saudi Arabia in 2022

In an aim to boost the cultural segment of Arab countries, Arabian cultural ministers to gather under one roof to discuss various aspects of culture and bridge gaps between Arab countries.

To make this happen, the 23rd Conference of Arab Culture Ministers will take place in 2022 and will be hosted by Saudi Arabia. In an agreement with the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), the event will see various heads of the cultural segments.

Organised by the Saudi Minister of Culture and Chairman of the National Commission for Education, Science and Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al-Saud, the event takes place biennially.

 
ALECSO, along with 22 hosting member states, the conference is an important cultural event in the Arab sphere as it enriches the exchange of cultures and bridges gaps between the Arab countries.

The last time the conference was chaired in Saudi Arabia was in 2015. The 19th session that was held under the title ‘Arabic language, a platform for cultural-humanitarian integration,’ while the UAE hosted the 22 nd edition of the Conference of Arab Culture Ministers in 2020.

With the hosting of the conference, Saudi Arabia is keen on showcasing its efforts towards educational, cultural, and scientific fields at the local and regional levels. Despite the difficult circumstances the world has faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, the kingdom’s readiness to prepare and develop a series of cultural activities, initiatives and events has been appreciated.

The relationship between Saudi Arabia and ALECSO spans 51 years since the establishment of the organisation and with the hosting of the event amidst all the challenges, they hope to build stronger ties among the Arab countries.
