A week after Instagram's CEO said that the app is testing three different feeds for its users, the social media platform may get another crucial feature.
Instagram is recognized for adding a variety of new features (little and large) in order to improve the user experience for its vast 500 million daily active users. Following the announcement that it is testing three new feed designs, the social media network is likely to include the opportunity to modify the order of posts in your profile grid.
A week after Instagram's CEO said that the app is testing three different feeds for its users, the social media platform may get another crucial feature: the option to change the profile grid, allowing users to construct their ideal aesthetic feed.
Users would have to go to the Profile area in Settings to activate this option, according to the leaked report. They will find the Edit Grid under Personal Information Settings in the Profile section. Users will be able to choose the grid's sequence according to their preferences by clicking here.
Instagram is working on the option to alter the profile grid, allowing users to rearrange posts in whatever order they like, according to leaker and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi. Instead of removing or archiving a post that no longer fits your feed's style, you might just rearrange it.
Instagram is also working on bringing back the chronological feed, in addition to the new profile grid edit function. The business just announced that the chronological feed would be reintroduced this year, about six years after it was replaced with the current algorithmically arranged feed.
There's no news on when that will happen, though. The "Edit Grid" functionality is present in the works. As a result, it might or might not see the light of day.
