Egypt Today: CAIRO - 5 May 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting at the government headquarters in the New Capital to track measures aimed at supporting the tourism sector amid current regional challenges.

The meeting, attended by the ministers of tourism and civil aviation along with banking and petroleum officials, focused on boosting tourist arrivals and streamlining entry and exit procedures at all airports and ports. Madbouly emphasized the need for continuous service improvements for incoming visitors.

Despite regional tensions, Tourism Minister Sherif Fathy reported that Egypt's stability and security have positively impacted arrival rates. The diversity of tourist destinations also cater to all types of tourists.

Fathy noted that 2025 concluded with a 21% growth in tourism compared to 2024, with the upward trend continuing into early 2026 at a monthly growth rate of 20% over the previous year.

Support efforts involve collaboration with the private sector and ensuring airlines maintain consistent flights to Egypt.

The 2026 promotion plan focuses on international exhibitions, tourism convoys, and managing Egypt's global image by sharing real tourist experiences.

The ministry is also prioritizing joint promotional campaigns and rapid responses to misinformation in global markets.
