Txai, the new technology's pilot project, was launched on November 23 at the Abu Dhabi Smart City Summit, with trials beginning on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island.

Self-driving taxi project TXAI, which operates on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, has concluded its first pilot phase and a driverless 12-seater shuttle to transport students and staff around the Khalifa University's Sas Al Nakhl Campus in the first phase.

According to a report, the self-driving, all-electric shuttle is one of the first autonomous vehicles to be deployed in the UAE in mixed traffic mode,' which refers to the vehicle's ability to drive alongside other vehicles. The announcements demonstrate the UAE's commitment to Abu Dhabi's Vision 2030 goals and the country's autonomous vehicle development.

During phase one of the pilot-Robo-taxi service, the service logged over 16,000 kilometers and over 2,700 passenger bookings. Txai, the new technology's pilot project, was launched on November 23 at the Abu Dhabi Smart City Summit, with trials beginning on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island. It is the first driverless taxi service in the region. This was Abu Dhabi's first autonomous taxi service, which utilized electric and autonomous vehicles that could be summoned via a smartphone application.

The form of driving experience has been elevated and revolutionized by the autonomous driving sector, which produces vehicles that are capable of self-awareness, anticipating needs, and making decisions for the driver. Intelligent vehicles are expected to provide the highest level of responsibility by learning to anticipate user behavior and even making compatible, reliable decisions to improve the driving experience. Artificial intelligence is predicted to add $320 billion to the GDP of the Middle East by 2030, according to research.

UAE's Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy aims to automate 25% of Dubai's transportation by 2030, saving AED 22 billion annually. These initiatives show the UAE's commitment to using AI to benefit humanity and create a global model of the future city.

Driver assistance systems, display, and infotainment systems are increasingly common in today's vehicles, making them safer and more comfortable to drive. Connectivity, automation, and new drive solutions will have a significant impact on the automotive industry going forward, having come a long way since the introduction of "cruise control."

The key to accelerating and simplifying the development, testing, and deployment of vehicle software is to develop open technology platforms that focus on highly integrated development toolchains and cloud-platform services related to vehicles.

Automated and networked driving is becoming the bright future of mobility, so it is more important than ever to equip vehicles with advanced safety technology and automated driving features. When it comes to implementing cutting-edge technology and developing safer roads, the United Arab Emirates continues to be a regional benchmark, being the first in the Arab world to do so.
