UAE: Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi calls Dubai ‘bright as stars’; shares fascinating image from the space

Mashable: Dubai is shining bright as stars.

Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi shared a sparkling view of Dubai from space.

 

Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi recently shares a glorious photo of Dubai from the International Space Station.

The stunning photo was taken from space by the Emirati astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi and shows Dubai shining bright at night.

On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, the United Arab Emirates-based astronaut gave a glimpse of the night view of Dubai from the International Space Station.

The 41-year-old astronaut posted a stunning night shot of Dubai from the orbiting space laboratory.

The ‘Najmonaut’ shared the photo on his official Twitter account and said that Dubai “shines” as bright as the “stars” from the International Space Station (ISS).

The breathtaking image which showed Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah shining vividly at night also caught the attention of the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Dubai Crown Prince who is also the President of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), the agency behind the Astronaut Programme, shared the same image.

Sheikh Hamdan said that it is an “awe-inspiring photograph” of the Emirate that “paints a picture” of Dubai’s extraordinary achievements both on “Earth and beyond”.

Sultan Al Neyadi aka Sultan of Space also shared photos of his historic spacewalk with an inspiring message for his followers. The astronaut made history on April 28, 2023, by becoming the first Arab to take an Extravehicular Activity (EVA) outside the orbiting laboratory along with NASA astronaut and his Crew-6 member, Stephen Bowen.
