UAE: Etihad Rail to bring luxury train experience; here’s everything to know

Mashable: Etihad Rail has signed an agreement with Italian luxury hospitality company Arsenale

Emirates is set to experience a new golden age of rail journey- all thanks to Etihad Rail.

 

Etihad Rail is set to bring a luxury train experience like never before to the United Arab Emirates.

As per Khaleej Times, the Emirates’ National Rail Network developer and operator, Etihad Rail has joined hands with Italian luxury hospitality company Arsenale.

The luxury train experience will offer a scenic journey and promises to pay homage to “Emirati culture and heritage”.

On Tuesday, Etihad Rail and Arsenale signed an agreement at the Middle East Rail Exhibition and Conference 2023 in Abu Dhabi to establish the service.

Once the GCC Railway is operational, the luxury train experience will start to operate within the United Arab Emirates and extend to the vast GCC region.

The luxury train will connect UAE cities including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Fujairah along with the Oman border.

Here’s everything you need to know about Etihad Rail’s luxury train experience:

Partner

Etihad Rail is partnering with Arsenale which is an Italian company that operates in the luxury hospitality market. The luxury train will be Arsenale’s second international luxury train project, after the recent announcement of The Dream of the Desert project in the Gulf nation, Saudi Arabia.

Route

Etihad Rail’s luxury train will travel across the UAE towards the border of Oman. It will pass through cities including Abu Dhabi and Dubai with Fujairah. Passengers will be able to experience the beauty of the Emirates to the Omani border passing the Liwa Desert and Al Muzairah.

No start date has been announced yet.

Carriage

The locomotive will have a total of fifteen luxury carriages that are completely refurbished in specialized factories located in Puglia and Sicily in the south of Italy.
