For the upcoming New Year, Abu Dhabi is gearing up for its attempts to break three Guinness World Records as part of Sheikh Zayed Festival’s New Year's Eve celebrations.
With just a few days left for the New Year to ring in, cities in the UAE are gearing up for something extraordinary, as they prepare themselves to enlist themselves for World records.
For the upcoming New Year, Abu Dhabi is gearing up for its attempts to break three Guinness World Records as part of Sheikh Zayed Festival’s New Year's Eve celebrations.
Attempting a world record for volume, duration and form, the fireworks will go on for 40-minutes, aiming to set records.
A series of folkloric and entertainment events and performances for the night have also been lined up by the festivity organising committee. Emirati singer Eida Al Menhali will perform on the night, along with Iraqi artist Ali Saber.
To capture the moment, a giant drone show that will light up the skies of Al Wathba will also take place. “This will be the first show of its kind and magnitude in the world,” reported the local agency.
Along with Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah is also making sure to kick in the New Year with a spectacular start.
The city is gearing up for another Guinness World Record-breaking fireworks display, which will feature pyro drones, lights, colours, and shapes. Aiming to break not one but two world records, the 12-minute pyrotechnic spectacle will cover a 4.7-kilometre area along the waterfront between Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Village.
The first attempt will be for the Most Remote Operated Multirotors / Drones Launching Fireworks Simultaneously and the second attempt is for the Highest Altitude Multirotor / Drone Firework Display.
This year, the event will feature 15,000 fireworks effects that have taken 5,000 hours of work, and over 130 sea pontoons and a fleet of hundreds of pyrotechnic drones. The display will be accompanied by orchestral and modern music.
