The buses are capable of covering a distance of 95 kilometres with a single charge.

The race towards electric mobility has led to the quest for developing quick and efficient charging mechanisms, so that private vehicles as well as public transport powered by renewable sources, are able to move around swiftly as a viable option for commuters in Emirati cities. Following the incentives that the administration had offered for adoption of electric vehicles by motorists, Dubai's electricity and water authority went on to unveil green chargers, for which it also provides an app that assists drivers with location of charging stations.

In line with the grid, Fleet is a system that also requires little space, and hence can be installed on any bus stop, where it can boost the battery level by 70% in 10 seconds. Buses can attain a 100% charge in about 20 minutes, for the storage device that has a life of 25 years.

The measure is in line with UAE's goal of keeping emission levels in line with UN's sustainable development targets, which also includes the use of electric cars as cabs. It also joins the likes of sky pods, as an innovative solution for the daily commute in the Emirates.
