Mashable: UAE president has named his brother Sheikh Mansour as Vice-President
The President of UAE has appointed Sheikh Mansour as Vice-President.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE President has named his brother Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Vice-President of the Emirate.
As per Khaleej Times, the President of the United Arab Emirates issued resolutions with the approval of the Federal Supreme Council, to name Sheikh Mansour as UAE Vice-President.
The UAE Federal Supreme Council is the country’s highest constitutional authority that includes Rulers of all seven Emirates.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Minister of the Presidential Court, Sheikh Mansour will serve as Vice-President, alongside the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the Prime Minister of the Emirate.
The new Vice-President, Sheikh Mansour was appointed as Minister of Presidential Affairs in the year 2004. He was appointed to chair the Ministerial Development Council in the year 2006 and also the Emirates Investment Authority in the year 2007.
In July 2022, following the Federal Decree issued by the UAE President, Sheikh Mansour was appointed as the Minister of the Presidential Court.
On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, besides appointing Sheikh Mansour as Vice-President, the UAE President also named his son as the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince via new resolutions and decrees. He also appointed his other brothers Sheikh Tahnoun and Sheikh Hazza as two Deputy Rulers of the UAE Capital.
The Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum took to his official Twitter account and congratulated the newly appointed leaders and called them “the leaders of the new generation.”
