Mashable: The MOU allows the sharing of spatial data to support many domains of shared interest, including climate change, disaster management, emergency response, food security, and agriculture.

The U.A.E. Space Agency and the Philippine Space Agency (PhiSA) have agreed to work together more closely on scientific endeavors, space exploration, and the sharing of information and expertise through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Salem Butti Salem Al Qubaisi, director general of the Space Agency, and Joel Joseph S. Marciano Jr., director general of the Philippine Space Agency, signed the MoU on the margins of the Abu Dhabi Space Debate.

The United Arab Emirates Space Agency hopes to further space science and peaceful space exploration by forming partnerships with organizations throughout the world. According to WAM, the U.A.E.'s official news agency, it also hopes to speed up the growth of the country's space technology and science sectors.

Space exploration, technological research, aerospace, education, and other important areas will all benefit from the agreement's increased bilateral cooperation between the two agencies.

Climate change, disaster management, emergency response, food security, and agriculture are just a few of the areas where the exchange of space data might help. There will be collaborative conferences, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events on space science and technology applications, as well as combined participation in scientific missions aiming at space exploration and access to pertinent data, between the two agencies.

The statement went on to say that the U.A.E. Space Agency and the Philippine Space Agency would be working together to promote space education through student and graduate exchange programs.

Developing qualified talents and human resources that can consolidate the sustainability of the space sector is a top priority for the U.A.E. Space Agency, according to Salem Al Qubaisi. "The U.A.E. Space Agency is committed to constructive international partnerships with various agencies to exchange experiences," he said.

U.A.E. Space Agency joined NASA's Artemis Accords in 2020. The signatories to the Accords committed to acting peacefully at all times and to disclosing their strategies and objectives to the public.
