Mashable: The Ministry of Health and Prevention in the UAE has announced that, effective from March 26, travelers to Saudi Arabia will need to provide influenza vaccination cards.

It is essential to ensure that all necessary doses of vaccination, particularly for influenza, are taken, and that all instructions and precautions are adhered to prior to the travel of UAE pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and Haj rituals.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention in the UAE has announced that, effective from March 26, travelers to Saudi Arabia will need to provide influenza vaccination cards. This precautionary step is being implemented to ensure the well-being and safety of pilgrims, Haj performers, their families, and the wider community by safeguarding against the spread of infectious diseases, reports Khaleej Times.

It is highly advised by authorities for travelers to make a visit to healthcare facilities well before their departure, especially if they have chronic medical conditions. Vaccinations can be easily obtained at government health centers as well as private hospitals to help prevent and manage infectious diseases.

The Ministry has established important guidelines to follow prior to traveling:

1. It is important to make sure that vaccinations are given at least ten days before traveling to guarantee their efficacy and establish proper immunity.

2. Seeking advice from a doctor for individuals with chronic illnesses to confirm their health condition and suitability for participating in Hajj and Umrah, as well as bringing an ample amount of medications.

3. Following all required and suggested immunizations and participating in consistent physical activity.

The Ministry has also stated that those who have already been vaccinated against influenza in the last year are not required to get another vaccination. Vaccination cards can be acquired via the Al Hosn app and shown at checkpoints during travel.

Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rend, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector, stressed the Ministry's commitment to the well-being and safety of Haj and Umrah travelers.

As part of this commitment, the inclusion of the influenza vaccination, along with other vaccinations, is given special attention. This measure is particularly important for individuals with chronic illnesses, the elderly, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.
