U.A.E. residents are in for a treat in 2024 as the Cabinet unveils a calendar packed with at least 13 public holidays, with four of them translating into blissful extended weekends—featuring the grand finale of a six-day break. This festive lineup adds extra sparkle to life in the Emirates, complementing the 30 annual leaves already available to employees.

The dates, predominantly following the Islamic calendar, were unveiled to help residents plan their 2024 adventures, with conversions to the Gregorian calendar facilitated by the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD).

Kicking off the year on a high note, U.A.E. denizens will enjoy a three-day weekend right at the start with the New Year's holiday falling on a Monday – January 1st, granting the perfect respite post-New Year's Eve celebrations.

But that's just the beginning! Brace yourselves for a grand six-day extravaganza during Eid Al Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan. As Ramadan lasts 29 days, the holiday spans from Tuesday, April 9, to Friday, April 12, inclusive of the Saturday-Sunday weekend.

Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha take the spotlight with a generous five-day break, commemorating the holiest day in Islam on Sunday, June 16, to Wednesday, June 19. Aligning with the weekend on Saturday, June 15, this period promises an extended celebration.

July ushers in the Islamic New Year on Sunday, July 7, offering a single day of rest. And as the year draws to a close, mark your calendars for a spectacular four-day holiday, December 2 and 3, falling on Monday and Tuesday, bookending the National Day celebrations.
