UAE’s Aayan Khan breaks the record to become the youngest to play at the men’s T20 World Cup

Mashable: The 16-year-old has broken Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir’s record

Aayan made his international debut last month against Bangladesh.

The 16-year-old left-arm spinner made his T20 World Cup debut on Sunday, October 16, 2022, against the Netherlands.

The Goa-born Aayan broke Pakistan pace bowler Mohammed Amir’s record. The Pakistani player made his T20 World Cup debut when he was 17 years and 55 days old.

The 16-year-old player who made his international debut last month against Bangladesh in Dubai gave an impressive performance on Sunday.

The allrounder was picked in the UAE XI for the team's first match against the Netherlands held at the Simonds Stadium in Geelong.

However, the UAE may have lost their match opening match, but Aayan made sure to impress everyone with the ball as he made figures of 3-0-15-1 in the team's three-wicket defeat.

Aayan who bowled three overs during the match managed to get his first wicket in the T20 World Cup. He dismissed Colin Ackermann on 17 off 19 balls and finished with impressive figures of 1/15 off his three overs.

Earlier this year, Aayan Khan impressed everyone with 93 and one for 13 in the UAE’s 82-run win over West Indies in the U19 World Cup.

Aayan Khan was born in the Indian state of Goa and moved to the United Arab Emirates at the age of two.

The UAE will have two other matches against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, and Namibia on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

The UAE’s talented bowling old-rounder had made history and became the youngest to play at the men’s T20 World Cup.
