Mashable: The event aimed to foster inclusivity and togetherness among residents of Ajman and their families.
In a heartwarming display of unity and community spirit, Al Safia Park in Ajman transformed into a vibrant dining haven on Thursday evening, possibly hosting the UAE's longest iftar spread to date. With the generous support of the Emirates Red Crescent Society, the event aimed to foster inclusivity and togetherness among residents of Ajman and their families, as reported by the Khaleej Times.
At 4 pm, volunteers carefully spread out long plastic sheets across the park, covering a distance of 500 meters from one side to the other. With four sheets in place, the collective length extended to a remarkable 2 kilometers, providing ample space for the 15,000 guests eagerly awaiting the communal iftar.
Guests were warmly welcomed, with school buses transporting many faithful from labour camps to partake in the traditional meal during the holy month of Ramadan. Families, workers, and other attendees gathered in anticipation, eagerly awaiting the moment to break their fast together.
People expressed their profound sense of belonging during the gathering. Anwar Malik, a resident of the labour camp, echoed Khan's sentiments, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome they received. "Arriving from the labour camp to partake in this iftar, we were welcomed with open arms and treated with kindness and respect," said Malik to Khaleej Times.
Generously provided and transported in multiple trucks, the iftar meals were meticulously laid out on plastic sheets, ready to be shared among the attendees. Moments before iftar, the faithful took a moment to offer prayers to Allah, seeking blessings for the meal ahead.
The meal boxes had different things like fruits, dates, water, salad, and a tasty rice dish, making sure everyone enjoyed a delicious and satisfying dinner.
