Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have issued a warning against social media users posting offensive content.

A video that has been circulating on social media has attracted severe backlash for its content. The video shows an inaccurate depiction of the police force in the Emirates.

Meanwhile, a man was reportedly arrested over a social media video showing off money in a luxury car showroom.

According to Gulf News, UAE’s Federal Prosecution for Combating Rumours and Electronic Crimes has ordered the pretrial detention of a man for various charges levelled against him.

As per the news outlet, the man was accused of spreading sensationalist propaganda on social media, stirring public opinion and damaging public interest. He was also charged with spreading content that does not comply with media content standards in the United Arab Emirates and is offensive in society.
