Mashable: WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging app, was launched back in 2009. It’s been 16 years since the app made its debut, and we are still waiting for an iPad app. The chat platform, now owned by tech giant Meta, is available on the web, Mac, iPhones, Android phones, and even Android tablets. If you own an iPad and regret not having app support for WhatsApp, your problem might be solved soon.

It seems as if Meta is finally working to bring a dedicated WhatsApp application to iPad. The tech giant recently responded to a user's post on X, which said, “They should add WhatsApp on iPad,” to which WhatsApp replied with an eye emoji. This is possibly an indication that Meta might finally bring the WhatsApp application to iPad users soon. Although the response didn’t mention any timeline for the same.

Notably, WhatsApp has been beta testing the iPad app for two years now through Apple’s TestFlight program. Users who are already signed up for the beta program report that the version has no problems whatsoever. This might be a hint that the app is in its final testing phase and could launch anytime soon.

We expect the iPad app to bring all the existing features from the iPhone app, including the companion mode, which would let users use the app on iPad without being connected to the iPhone.
