A human-like mannequin is being incubating in a plastic at a west Hollywood bus stop, an unsettling image designed to promote Netflix's new show, Altered Carbon.
The show is based on the Richard K. Morgan’s an imagines a world, 300 years in the future, where the human consciousness can be stored. The themes of rebirth feature prominently in the show.
The experiential stunt in Santa Monica is open to the public who can poke and prod at the exhibition while waiting on their bus. Commuters will notice that the lifelike mannequin is also gently breathing according to Fox 11.
As far as entertainment marketing goes, the human in a plastic bag is exceptionally morose and could cause distress to children - or adults.
However, one way to win over viewers is by creeping the public out on their daily commute.
The stunt has garnered significant press coverage.
