Good news for all WhatsApp users out there! It has recently come to light that WhatsApp has finally added the much-awaited disappearing photos feature to the stable version of the messaging app. The feature is called ‘View Once’ and it works in a similar fashion as Snapchat’s snaps and Instagram ‘expiring media’ features where the media sent disappears after the receiver is done viewing it once.

So, if you’re interested in knowing how you can use this feature, simply follow these five easy steps.

-- Go to WhatsApp, and select the chat that you want to send to the media.

-- Then you will see the attachment icon and choose photos and videos.

-- After choosing the photos and videos option, you will need to select the media that you want to see from your smartphone’s gallery.

-- Once you select it, you will notice a clock-like icon in the ‘Add a caption’ bar. Select the option and simply tap on it to use the ‘View Once’ feature. WhatsApp will then show a message that reads “Photo set to View Once.”

-- And that’s it! You can now send disappearing photos to your friends and family members and have fun!

While the feature is fun to use, it’s equally important that you keep certain security measures in mind. For one, even though people can only view the media that you send them once, they can still take a snapshot, take screen recording of the media sent with another phone or even click a screenshot of the media. Users will not get notified if the receiver takes a screenshot of the media, which is why it's important that you be careful when using this feature.
