With loads of viral food stalls, fun rides, and pavilions celebrating Dubai’s rich cultural diversity, it’s easy to see why it’s become such a beloved day out.

Fans will know that every summer, the city’s favourite family-friendly attraction closes its doors due to high temperatures, then reopens in the autumn.

When will Global Village reopen in 2026?
Global Village wrapped up its 30th season on Sunday May 31, and is now closed for the summer months.

While an official reopening date has not yet been announced, the attraction is expected to return in October 2026 for its 31st season.

Global Village typically reopens in mid-October each year, with opening ceremonies traditionally taking place on the Wednesday closest to the middle of the month. This means the most likely opening date is Wednesday October 14, followed by Wednesday October 21.

The history of Global Village
The first season of Global Village in 1996 was actually held in a car park in Dubai Creek across the road from the Dubai Municipality building.

It started life as an add-on pop-up to encourage more inbound tourism during the emirate’s long-running Dubai Shopping Festival.

It moved around the emirate multiple times and was based in Dubai Creek, Dubai Festival City and Oud Metha before moving to the 17.2 million square foot area at Dubailand in 2005.

Global Village will also celebrate 20 years since it moved to the 17.2 million square foot area at Dubailand in 2005.
