WhatsApp is reportedly set to roll out a standalone business app to help the businesses communicate with its customers.
Through its FAQ 'Chatting with businesses' section of the page, the platform has explained that there will be three different business accounts. The first account will be the verified one which will carry a green checkmark badge in its profile.
The second will be a confirmed account so that the phone number of this account matches the phone number for the business and will have a gray checkmark badge in its profile. Third is the business account, although that still hasn't been officially confirmed nor verified by WhatsApp. A business account has a gray question mark badge in its profile.
As reported by Business Today, WhatsApp has also added tools for users to control this experience, and to block business accounts and report them as spam at any time, within the chat itself.
WhatsApp earlier launched a pilot that lets businessescommunicate with the messaging service’s one billion daily users, with reports suggesting it will launch a dedicated app for small-to-medium businesses (SMB).
