Instagram makes its Stories even more visible, by giving the opportunity to share your favourite clips with your friends.
So far, you could reply directly to a story either by message, or by sending a video back. However, given the popularity of Stories, Instagram thought it would make sense for its users to share their finds with their friends.
As the announcement says, sharing a story should be very easy. When you discover a story you want to share, tap the direct icon in the bottom right corner, select a friend or group to share it with and tap send. When a friend shares a story with you, it should appear as a message on your inbox, so make sure you tap on the red notification on top right corner of the app.
Exciting news? Well, if you’re not publicity shy and your Stories are public then you’re okay, especially if you’re a potential influencers, who want to see their content spread far and wide. Therefore, we would assume that Instagram would have some sort of analytics on the way, so that brands and platform mega-stars can track the performance of their content.
However, for those who shy away from publicity, there’s always the choice to opt out and prohibit others from sharing your story in direct messages. Just head straight to your Stories settings and disable the feature from there.
According to Instagram, the update is rolling out gradually throughout the globe over the coming weeks. The new feature will be available for iOS and Android in the Apple App Store and Google Play as part of Instagram version 11.0.
